About hyaluronic acid

[Abstract]:
The term hyaluronic acid is not well known for its Taiwanese English translation of hyaluronic acid. Probably because of the development of the cosmetic cosmetic industry, the injection of hyaluronic acid is more popular than the application of hyaluronic acid. In fact, hyaluronic acid itself is not a new raw material in the cosmetics industry, but this interesting raw material is not as simple as imagined.

Hyaluronic acid is a macromolecular polysaccharide classified as a macromolecular polysaccharide from the bovine vitreous body by Meyer and Palmer, a professor of ophthalmology at Columbia University in 1934. The aqueous solution is also known as hyaluronic acid.

Later, it was found that hyaluronic acid is one of the main components of the extracellular matrix and interstitial cells of the human body. It is a filler between cells and plays an important role in the morphology, structure and function of the skin.

Hyaluronic acid is the main component of the human intercellular substance. The body has aging, wrinkles, and relaxation, which is closely related to the reduction of hyaluronic acid content in the skin. Therefore, in medical beauty, hyaluronic acid is often used for injection to fill acne pits, remove wrinkles, delay aging, and is also used in lip thickening surgery, rhinoplasty surgery and the like.

Structurally speaking, it is actually the condensation of two kinds of glucose derivatives, and then repeating this structure, it becomes hyaluronic acid, which is very close to the structure of most polysaccharides. Because of this structure, most of them have The function of polysaccharides - moisturizing.

Hyaluronic acid formula

But why hyaluronic acid is more "net red" than other polysaccharides, mainly hyaluronic acid is a kind of natural moisturizing factor in the skin, with extremely powerful moisturizing effect.

The application of hyaluronic acid in skin care products has been particularly hot in the past two years. There are thousands of products that use hyaluronic acid in a search, but when we say hyaluronic acid, it is just a big class. The product, hyaluronic acid is not a single raw material, can be subdivided into many categories, just vaguely said how to have hyaluronic acid in this product, or not enough.

In general, products such as hyaluronic acid exist in the form of their sodium salts, and according to different molecular weights, they can be classified into hyaluronic acid having a large molecular weight, a medium molecular weight and a small molecular weight.

Classification of hyaluronic acid

Different types of hyaluronic acid have different effects. Hyaluronic acid can be divided into the following four categories according to the molecular weight:

◆High molecular weight hyaluronic acid: Hyaluronic acid has a molecular weight higher than 2000KDa, which can form a gas permeable membrane on the surface of the skin, lock the moisture on the skin surface, prevent moisture evaporation and long-term moisturizing. However, the penetration is poor and will not be absorbed by the skin.

◆Molecular weight hyaluronic acid: Hyaluronic acid has a molecular weight between 500KDa and 2000KDa. It can also form a gas permeable membrane on the surface of the skin to lock in moisture and firm the skin.

◆Low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid: Hyaluronic acid has a molecular weight of 10KDa-500KDa, which can penetrate into the dermis layer of the skin, play a role in the skin, lock in moisture, promote skin metabolism, make the skin moist, smooth, delicate and elastic. . The ability to prevent evaporation of water is poor.

◆Oligomeric hyaluronic acid: Hyaluronic acid has a molecular weight of less than 10KDa, that is, less than 50 monosaccharide structures, and hyaluronic acid molecules with a degree of polymerization of less than 25 can penetrate into the dermis layer to exert a full-scale, continuous moisturizing effect, and ordinary transparency. Acidic molecules play different moisturizing effects on the surface of the skin. They have a long-lasting moisturizing effect and good effects. They have anti-aging and wrinkle-removing effects.

With the continuous improvement of people's material living standards, the attention to the skin has also increased, which has led to the birth of some cosmetics that have slowed down aging and moisturizing beauty, which has also intensified the fierce competition in the cosmetics industry. How to more accurately distinguish the quality of hyaluronic acid to make full use of it is one of the problems we need to explore. Starting from all aspects, improving the quality standards of cosmetic products is the most important thing at the moment.
